PDLC film is short for polymer dispersed liquid crystal film, which make the fast switch between transparent and opaque condition. It is the main part of the smart glass.
PDLC film (polymer dispersed liquid crystal) is the mixed product of two sheet transparent conductive film (ITO) with polymer dispersed liquid crystal(PDLC) material inside. PDLC film is on opaque condition without the electric field; when connecting to the AC power source, the crystal molecules form to well-ordered rows, then PDLC film becomes from opaque(OFF) to transparent(ON) condition. Through the function of electric fields, PDLC film can make the fast switch of transparent-opaque and opaque-transparent condition.
PDLC film can be laminated or sticks with the glass to make so-called "smart glass".
